At the core of all we do is our desire to follow Christ and grow in our relationship with Him.  Spiritual growth includes: (1) increasing in your knowledge and understanding of God’s Word, increasing in your practice of Christ-like qualities, and increasing in your faith and trust in God. It’s about becoming more like Jesus Christ. In 1 Corinthians 11:1, Paul says, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” Jesus Christ is the ultimate example of what it truly means to be spiritual  We do this during worship, Christian education, and in community with each other.  We share our joys and concerns with each other during Sunday morning services and also in small groups.  Both corporate and personal prayer are a strong part of building relationship with Christ and with each other.

Christian education takes place at all ages in many different formats.  Sunday school classes after worship for all ages, summer Vacation Bible School for children, and bible study groups are some of the ways we learn more about our faith and grow in our relationship with Christ.  Classes vary in format and focus.

Music helps us to express both the joy and the sorrow of our faith.  Music at Southern Hills is a strong component of our worship through congregational signing, adult and children’s choirs, and a variety of talented instrumentalists.  All are welcome to participate.
